Enteral Feeding (Non-Accredited) – High Intensity Support Skills

Overview

At Queen of Hearts Training, we deliver specialist Enteral Feeding & Management (Non-Accredited) Training for NDIS providers, support workers, disability carers, and aged care staff across the Sunshine Coast – from Gympie to Caloundra, including Noosa, the Hinterland, and surrounding areas.

Enteral Feeding is classified as a high-risk, high-intensity support under the NDIS High Intensity Support Skills Descriptors (HIDPA). These complex supports carry significant risks for participants, workers, and carers. Without the proper skills and knowledge, incorrect management can result in serious complications, hospitalisation, or life-threatening emergencies.

This course ensures NDIS providers and support staff gain the practical skills, clinical knowledge, and confidence required to deliver safe, high-quality, and compliant enteral feeding supports in home and community settings, including Percutaneous Endoscopic Gastrostomy (PEG) feeding, PEG-J tubes, and Nasogastric (NG) tubes.

What You’ll Learn:

· Anatomy and physiology relevant to enteral feeding

· Understanding and managing PEG, PEG-J, and NG tube feeding

· Safe preparation, administration, and monitoring of enteral feeds

· Infection control, hygiene, and aseptic technique

· Recognising and responding to complications, including aspiration, tube blockage, or dislodgement

· Emergency response for enteral feeding incidents

· Accurate documentation and reporting in line with NDIS and HIDPA requirements

· Delivering dignified, person-centred care
